Some transport proteins bind and transport molecules very selectively. Uniport is the transport of one solute molecule. Symport is the transports of two solute molecules in the same direction. Antiport is the transports of two solute molecules in opposite directions. 1. Glucose binds to a site on the transporter that faces the cell's exterior. 2. Glucose binding causes a conformational change that exposes the glucose to the cell interior. 3. Glucose dissociates from the transporter. 4. The transporter reverts to its original conformation.
